The
Côte d'Azur - French Riviera is part of France's South Eastern coast of the
Mediterranean Sea, from Toulon to Menton on the border with Italy.
It
is regarded as one of the most luxurious, expensive, and sophisticated areas in
Europe and is home to the world's rich and famous. It became a fashionable resort
in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and was particularly popular with the
British upper class. Winston Churchill was a regular visitor. Initially it was
a winter resort, valued for its mild winter climate in comparison with that of
northern Europe (though it is by no means actually warm in the winter). Later
it became much more popular as a summer resort.
Cannes
is host to the annual presentation of the Palme d'or which attracts movie stars
from around the world each May and Monaco hosts the Formula one Grand Prix, Monte
Carlo rally and Historic grand prix every other year.
As
one of the most famous resort areas in the world, the French Riviera continues
west from the Italian Riviera and Menton through Monaco, Nice, Antibes and Cannes
along the Mediterranean coast of the Alpes-Maritimes département. After Cannes,
there is some dispute regarding its extent, with some authorities (including the
official tourist bodies for the Alpes-Maritimes) arguing that it stops at the
border with the département of the Var, after Théoule-sur-Mer. Others suggest
it extends further along the Var coastline, at least as far as Saint-Tropez, but
possibly to Hyères or even the border with the Bouches-du-Rhône département.

medieval house that has been modernised throughout. The road outside is a pedestrianised
street (cars can be brought close to unload). It sleeps 4-6 with the bedrooms

On the first floor there is a bedroom with twin beds and an en-suite shower room.
In the living room the sofa converts into a double bed. Above

is accessed from the street via two gates and some steps. Whilst being unsuitable
for wheelchair users it is not too difficult for pushchairs to get in and out.
The terrace is safe for children as it is on ground level and has a fence/gate.
The apartment has electric central heating radiators although the Cote d'Azur
boasts over 300 days of sunshine per year so rarely used. Your arrival and departure
could not be easier if you are planning on using the efficient modern public transport
system here on the Cote d'Azur. The bus runs direct from the bus terminal at Nice
airport every half hour. The apartment is just a short two minute walk from the

& Internet. This 35sq m studio apartment sits in a extremely well-kept private
residence, away from the hustle and bustle and noise, but close enough to be able
to walk to the shops, post office, and bus stops. Walking up to the residence
is not as easy though for an elderly person or a young child - so you need to
drop them off before parking. As we are situated on top of a terraced hill, the
apartment is actually on the first floor on our side of the block. The apartment
has an outside terrace, with sea view, is very safe and secure. Wonderfully sunny
all day long, you can stay and sit in the sun on the private terrace, walk down
to the swimming pool, play some tennis or table tennis. Or head off to discover
