for 4-6 people. A detached property, set in in it's own large grounds, it has
3 en-suite bedrooms, a large living and dining area, and is close to many local
attractions -Les Herolles is a small village in Region 86 on the Indre / Vienne
borders of France. The village is wonderfully quiet and peaceful (except for the
fabulous market day each month - more info here) and is within easy driving distances
of many major towns and attractions - There is also an additional double sofa
bed on the upstairs mezzanine landing should there be more in your group. Comfortably
furnished, and with a well equipped kitchen you’re sure to have all you require
to enjoy your holiday in France.
The
entrance to the property is by double gates with a drive leading up to the house.
There is ample parking for numerous vehicles, or even a caravan or holiday home
should you wish. The very large gardens have mature fruit trees and many areas
for you to relax during your holiday. Depending on what time of year you stay
there will be a choice of apples, pears, cherries, peaches, nuts and much more

resting on the banks of the River Ne, and surrounded by forest. Dating from the
11th century, the original house was a command post for the Knights Templar in
the Crusades. Chez Meunier, our Gite, was the Miller’s home and is a deceptively
spacious house. The setting is wooded silence and because the area is protected,
the flora and fauna flourish here. The large, fully fitted kitchen has an enormous
oak table, and together with the outdoor dining area and barbeque, all your dining
can be an absolute pleasure. The 10 x 5m private swimming pool is fenced
to European safety specifications, with a child-proof gate. 3 large bedrooms sleep
6 and 2 sofa beds, in the large lounge, are available for 3 extra people if necessary.
With 2 bathrooms (1 en-suite) and 3 toilets this newly renovated house offers

was completely refurbished in 2001 located in a very quiet area approximately
2.5kms from the beach (this is a very large sandy beach ),2.5 kms from St Martin
sailing port. Outside This lovely house has a very pretty garden with a
large terrace that has sun all of the day. There is a dining table for 8/10 people.
The garden is watered by an automatic sprinkler system. Plenty of room for car
parking. Local Information The house is located in a very quiet area close
to the large sandy beach and St Martin sailing port. Here you will find a good
selection of cafes, shops and restaurants. There are 5 bicycles and 1 wind surf
board for the use of guests. The local towns are St Martin , Ars, La Couarde,
Les Portes, La Flotte. You will find open markets and shopping centres here. Leisure
Facilities Sporting Facilities: Tennis — many local very nice courts 2.5 km
away, Horse riding 1 km away, Golf — 9 hole course 22 km. Sailing boats and wind

its traditional charm, but with all mod-cons! "Belle Vue Gite is a one level,
2 bedroom gite, with its own private garden, sleeping up to 8. "L'Hotel du Poulet"
is a beautiful studio for 2+, air-conditioned in summer and heated in winter.
Courtanne Gites has; a 13m, heated, saltwater, floodlit pool / Games room with
table-tennis, table football, darts, gym equipment and several bikes which are
available to use free of charge. We have an extensive DVD & Video library to borrow.
Central to Cognac/ Niort/ La Cleaning & Linen Bed-linen, bathroom towels,
kitchen-towels are provided and are already included in the rental price.WE DO
NOT PROVIDE POOL TOWELS, Linen is changed on Saturdays. A damage/cleaning deposit
is required with your booking, from which a cleaning charge will be deducted if
the gite is not cleaned and left in the condition in which you found it Rochelle/

Accomodation
Notes All our properties are suitable for children, with a child-gate fixed
at the top of the stairs in La Vieille Maison. The 5 acres are enclosed by fencing
and trees. L'Hotel du Poulet is air-conditioned in summer and heated in winter.
Heating in colder months is provided by a combination of wood-burning fire, electric
radiators, gas-heaters and "Poele" heaters. There is an equestrian centre 1km
away in the next village, and the region boasts many fishing holes & rivers, and
several golf courses in the Poitou-Charentes Region. The area is riddled with
sites of historic interest, eg the ancient Silver mines at Melle, the Abbey at
Celles-sur-Belles and the 16th Century town of Charroux to name but a few. As
well as Zoos, Beaches about an hour away, Futuroscope is 1 hr distant, and some
beautiful scenery around Courtanne to explore on foot or bikes Wheelchair Access
All our properties are suitable for disabled access with the following points
to bear in mind- The driveway is gravel. There are low steps at each doorway and
one step down onto the patio from the kitchen in Belle Vue. There are either beds
or sofa-beds on the ground floor of each property. The showers in La Vieille Maison
are enclosed units with a deep basin suitable for childrens bathing. The shower
room in L'Hotel du Poulet is a fully tiled "wet-room" design with no steps. It
is large enough for a person to shower whilst seated. There is a step up onto
the swimming pool terrace. All doors are wide enough to permit standard size wheelchair
